Battling with the grief throughout his life, it was only now that he was able to understand her complicated life's story and craft a special experience in her memory. Not only this, but the cigar takes on somewhat of an otherworldly inspiration, as the box/band design was taken from a sketch made by Luciano's daughter. According to Meirelles, she sketched the portrait after having dreamt of a woman she did not know. When Luciano saw the drawing, it was unmistakable for his mother, and is now featured on the Maria Lucia cigar.
